New Wargame Transfers for the Livonian Brothers of the Sword

Hard on the heels of our waterslide transfers for the Teutonic Knights comes the Schwertbrüderorden; Livonian Brothers of the Sword.

Less well known than their associated Order the Teutonic Knights the Livonian Order of the Sword was a German military and religious order, founded in 1202 by Bishop Albert of Livonia for the purpose of conquest and Christianization in the Baltic lands. The Order was organized in the same way as the older Teutonic Kinghts.

The latest value sheet of wargame waterslide transfers from Battle Flag contains enough decals for the barding, cloaks, surcoats and shields of 12 mounted knights of the Order as well as their Standard and 4 lance pennants.

You can purchase these and the transfers of the Teutonic Order, as well as all our other true waterslide transfers, from our secure online shop at

Waterslide Transfers and Decals for 28mm Teutonic Wargame Figures and Miniatures

Having finally gotten over the pneumonia and the house and office move completed the design schedule is up and running again.

The first new release in the waterslide transfer range is for the Teutonic knights of the 13th Century. Small and large heater shields with the ubiquitous crosses and eagles of the Order. All the shields are unique with each shield carrying different wear and tear helping the modeler to add individuality to the ranks of their German knights.

As with all Battle Flag true water slide transfers and decals, for shields, realistic damage and staining has been added to create an effective battle worn appearance. Each shield carries the evidence of hard fought battle. From the advance through the mud and dust, every sword slash fended, to the blood and snot of the vanquished enemy each shield tells its own story.

I will be adding the final sets to the Teutonic 13th Century this week along with the first Gallic and Celtic along with some more of our superb Greek shields over the next few days, so be sure to keep checking in for the latest news on our 28mm wargame water slide transfers and decals.

You can purchase thes from our secure online shop at and remember First Corps Miniatures carry our full range of transfers and flags at all major UK wargamge shows.

New 28mm French Hussar Sabretache Transfers and Decals

I have just about recovered from a bout of pneumonia of all things, hence the rather slow output of late. But now mended I will be cracking on apace.

Just before I took ill I was about to release sabretache and saddle roll Regimental number sets for Perry’s excellent Plastic Hussars. One set of transfers provides enough waterslide transfers for wargamers to decal a complete boxed set.

The sabretaches are rather prominent and an elaborate feature on the hussars and these transfers allow the wargamer to create an excellent focal point on each figure.

28mm Scale Tartan for Wargame Miniatures and Model Soldiers

I am sure that there are many gamers who have always wanted to field Scottish Regiments in their British Napoleonic wargame armies. But like me have felt that their skill with a paint brush just wasn’t up to the task of painting model soldier tartan in 28mm wargame scale. With Battle Flags latest series of transfer kits for the Victrix 28mm plastic Highlanders getting tartan right on your wargame miniature is no longer a problem.

The Gordon Highlanders are the first series of kilt kits to see release with the Cameron’s and the Black Watch to follow over the next couple of weeks.

The Napoleonic Highlander waterslide decal kits come with enough transfers to deck out five wargame model soldiers in full tartan. Each sheet is numbered so as to correspond with the sprue number of the figure in the Victrix Napoleonic Highlanders box; so Cameron sheet B1 is designed for the five B1 models contained in the box, B2 for the B2 numbered models and so on.

Each of the five figure waterslide decal kits comes complete with transfers for kilts, bonnet bands, sock tops, water canteen and backpack Regimental number. Everything a wargamer need to make his Scottish Soldiers stand out on the wargames table.

As with all Battle Flags transfers these are very simple to apply. Simply cut the transfer out of the sheet, soak in water for 20-30 seconds and apply.

Our ultra thin transfers are very easy to slide into place and fold to the shape of the model and dry out to approximately a paint layer thick for a superb finish.

The first five sets for the Gordon Highlanders are available to order now. More than enough for a complete 24 fig Regiment.

You can purchase these and any other Battle Flag wargame products at our secure online shops, Battle Flag or Wargame Transfers

New High Quality Wargame Decals and Transfers

The all new waterslide transfers for wargame miniatures are now available from Battle Flag. Unlike other makes of transfer these are true waterslide, no plastic film to peel off, no sticking the transfer to the wargame figure and hoping you have placed it correctly first time. Simply pre-soak the decal in luke warm water, for approximately 20 seconds and slide it into place, then adjust until you are happy with postion. Simple as that and great results every time. The special carrier film, currently unique to Battle Flags transfers/decals dries to approximately a paint layer thick and is therefore easy to blend into the paintwork.
